EMS/EMT

Job Title: Paramedic
Administers emergency medical care to sick and/or injured patients and transports those patients to an appropriate medical facility.

    Shift: 24 Hour Shifts - B-shift
    Hours: Full-Time 80 Hours every 2 weeks
    Job Requirements Include:
    • Administers appropriate emergency medical treatment to patients while on scene and/or during transport
    • Creates accurate patient care report (PCR) for each patient
    • Learns and maintains excellent geographical knowledge of McPherson EMS response territory
    • Current certification as an Paramedic issued by the Kansas Board of EMS is required.
    • Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification issued by AHA is required.
    • Current ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, AMLS, PEPP, NRP, and CEVO certification is preferred.
    • Minimum: 1-2 years paramedic experience perferred.

H.I.M. - Health Information Management

Job Title: EMR Technician
Job Summary: Compiles, scans, processes, and maintains medical records consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements. Utilizes electronic health record system for inquiry purposes, enters and sends data, and generates reports. Releases medical information, as appropriate. Processes patient admission and discharge documents. Greets customers, answers phone, responds to written and verbal requests for patient information.

    Shift: Days 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
    Hours: Full-Time/80 hours every 2 weeks
    Job Requirements Include:
    • Collect medical records from patient care areas to prep for inclusion into the patient’s electronic medical record.
    • Prepare medical records for scanning.
    • Scan medical records into the hospital’s electronic medical record system.
    • Assign deficiencies to appropriate physicians and staff for completion of the legal medical record.
    • Prepares correspondence and records for release of information in accordance with HIPAA privacy laws, state regulations, and hospital policy to respond to requests for patient information.
    • Organizes and coordinates ordering of department supplies by checking supply inventory and ordering as needed on a weekly basis to maintain supplies needed to do daily tasks.
    • High school diploma or general education development (GED) required.
    • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college preferably in Health Information Management, preferred.
    • Preferred: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or must be eligible to sit and successfully pass the above-mentioned professional credential within 9 months of hire.

Housekeeping

Job Title: Housekeeper
Shift: 2nd Shift
Hours: Full-time/80 hours every 2 weeks
    Job Requirements:
    • The Housekeeper performs, coordinates, and/or assists with routine cleaning, sanitation and other housekeeping tasks throughout the Hospital.
    • The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring adequate hand soaps and hand sanitizers and sanitary paper products are adequately stocked for patient care, visitors, and staff.
    • The Housekeeper also assists with the handling and processing of waste and bio-waste materials by collecting, transporting, and storing as specified.
    • Overall, the Housekeeper assists with departmental goals to ensure a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
    • One to two years of housekeeping or floor maintenance work is preferred.

Job Title: Information Systems Tech
Job Summary: Supports the operation of the I.T. department to provide helpdesk and technical support to employees of McPherson Hospital Inc. Assists I.T. departments in routine clerical tasks and special projects.
    Shift: Temporary
    Hours: Full-time/80 Hours every 2 weeks
    Requirements Include:
    • Performs basic Help Desk activities including answering support calls and logging them in the computer system.
    • Runs, verifies and troubleshoots daily backup jobs in accordance with disaster management plan to ensure important data is easily recoverable. Restores files from backups when needed.
    • Performs I.T. clerical tasks to assist I.T. department staff as needed.
    • Assists with cleaning and organizing server and storage rooms, and moving printers and equipment.

Job Title: RN House Coordinator
Job Summary: Serves as an extension of hospital administration and management staff in their absence. Serves as a member of Nursing Leadership and Management Council.

Patient Financial Services


Job Title: Admissions Supervisor
The Admissions Supervisor coordinates the daily patient admissions operations

    Job Requirements Include:
    • Coordinates patient admission activities, such as registration, insurance verification and pre-registration activities. 
    • Assists management in establishing and implementing goals.
    • Serves as a liaison between clinical and administrative areas to ensures sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements.
    • Assists in monitoring budgets, staffing levels, quality measures, and/or regulatory compliance.
    • Supervises the admissions functions including staff performance, insurance verification, pre-registration and provision of financial assistance application to self-pay patients functions to assure efficient revenue cycle operations.
    • Demonstrate specific knowledge of hospital and medical billing including UB and HCFA 1500 billing formats, regulatory compliance, CPT coding, HCPS coding, ICD-10 coding and managed care contract methodology.
    • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience  with responsibility increasing progressively over time is necessary to gain a competent understanding of patient accounting, insurance verification and third party payer billing procedures required
    • Experience and Team Leader or Supervisory role is required.
