Facilities

Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Summary: Directs the development and implementation of effective programs to manage the occupancy and use, repair and renovation of the Hospital's buildings and grounds, utilities service, and other facility support services. Ensures a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for patients, visitors and staff.
Shift: Days 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Job Requirements Include:

  • Demonstrates initiative in completing assigned work in addition to meeting the emergent needs of user departments. Assesses and identifies appropriate repair options, application of in-house resources, and repair priorities to minimize service disruptions. Demonstrates effective use of time management skills in coordinating and completing work with coworkers or contractor personnel to ensure processes and efforts are meeting established performance measures.
  • The Mechanic reports to the supervisor of Plant Operations. The Mechanic is accountable for managing assigned tasks, routines and projects to meet productivity and quality standards established by the Maintenance Department. The Mechanic monitors indoor environments of temperature and humidity variances, lighting outages, damage to building envelop and interior finishes, and infraction of life safety code compliance for the continual and safe operation of the Hospital.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in keeping department supervision informed of work load, scheduling conflicts, and/or service interruptions; providing relevant and timely feedback on corrective actions, potential impact to patient care services, and recommended alternatives. Communicates effectively with user department staff regarding service interruptions or potential interruptions, repair status and project updates, and project completion.
  • Abides by and ensures all compliance measures and policies are followed. Monitors "self" to ensure safe work practices are followed, such as: use/storage of flammable liquids / materials, caustic or corrosive products, electrical and machine lock out / tag procedures, and use of personal protective equipment. In addition, ensures coworkers, contractors and vendors are following compliance regulations and Hospital policies throughout assigned work areas.
  • Can read / retrieve accurate information from building blue prints (e.g., code footprint, electrical/utility, plumbing drawings) in preparation to making repairs to building systems, demolition of walls, ceiling, and flooring structures. In addition, can read / retrieve accurate information from product labeling and manufacturer specifications and material safety data sheets.

Finance/Accounting

Job Title: Financial Analyst/CDM Coordinator
Job Summary: Contributes to the fulfillment of the Hospital’s mission and vision by gathering, analyzing, and reporting relevant financial information for review by all levels of management. Monitors actual financial results against budgets and develops short-term and long-term financial projections. Coordinates the maintenance of the Hospital charge master to ensure its accuracy and compliance with all regulatory standards. Evaluates regulatory changes and payer policies and makes recommendations on modifications to the charging process.
Shift: Days 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Job Requirements Include:

  • Gathers and analyzes relevant financial information as assigned, including the development of proformas and specialized reimbursement estimates. Prepares reports for review by all levels of management.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements using generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Coordinates the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets for all Hospital services.
  • Monitors actual performance against budgets and reports variances according to Hospital practice.
  • Coordinates the preparation of work papers for the annual independent audit, IRS Form 990, the Medicare Cost Report, and various reimbursement projects.

  • HFMA certification as a CHFP (Certified Healthcare Financial Professional) is desirable.

This is inclusive of the revenue capture, coding, billing and oversight of the external billing company's collection activities.

H.I.M. - Health Information Management

Job Title: Hospital Ancillary and Clinic Coder
Job Summary: This position assigns diagnosis and procedures codes as well as E and M levels to patient accounts to ensure accurate and timely claims to be submitted to payers for reimbursement.
Shift: Days 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Hours: Full-Time/80 hours every 2 weeks
Job Requirements Include:

  • Completes clinic and ancillary department coding functions utilizing approved system workflow applications for coding, abstracting, and financial billing.
  • Demonstrates the ability to achieve accurate, complete and consistent selection of principle and relevant secondary diagnosis; identifies signs and symptoms for medical necessity; and verifies and corrects admission source and discharge disposition codes (if hospital system requires).
  • Validate appropriateness of physician orders and signatures. Pend accounts for inappropriate orders and signatures.

The Customer Service Supervisor coordinates the daily patient account inquiries and pre-authorizations operations Job Requirements Include:

The Financial Counselor assists all patients identified as needing assistance in resolving financial obligations, particularly uninsured and underinsured patients. Job Requirements Include:

  • Meets with patients who present as self-pay or in financial need to confirm demographics and obtain valid insurance coverage. Notifies the appropriate departments of coverage for coordination of benefits, enters account notes and updates patient accounting system.
  • Educates, screens, and assists patients who do not have valid insurance coverage with enrollment in programs including state and federal public benefits, financial assistance, and/or existing loan or payment plans in accordance with hospital and departmental policies.
  • May secure advance down payments, payment or payment arrangements to ensure resolution of account balances after insurance or financial assistance has been processed.
  • Serves as a resource to Patient Accounting staff, Social Workers, and other hospital staff for identification of funding sources for health services for patients.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; one year related experience in the healthcare industry or two or more years of college preferred.

Surgical Care Clinics

Job Title: RN Surgical First Assist
Job Summary: Provide nursing support to the physician to insure quality medical care in the clinic setting to each patient every time.
Shift: Days 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Hours: Full-Time/80 hours every 2 weeks

Call time will be required for this position
Job Requirements Include:

  • Works in the Hospital Surgical Clinic environment
  • Assist surgeon with care of the patient while in the surgical environment
  • Assist surgical team with preparation of patient for surgery as needed including transfer of patients to the surgical table, positioning and immobilization.
  • Acquire and maintain laparoscopic navigation skills and equipment procedures
  • Follow Surgical Care Improvement Guidelines (SCIP) and assist with compliance as needed
  • Schedule lab and x-ray appointments as ordered by the physician. Complete the necessary order forms for ancillary services. Prepare specimens for transfer to the lab.
  • Schedule surgical procedure with OR to reserve OR room and insure OR staff availability.
  • Must have the ability to communicate to each patient in a way that is appropriate to his or her particular age, capabilities or disabilities, temporary impairments, emotions, stresses, culture and individual station
  • Current RN license in the state of Kansas and certified BLS and ACLS
  • Surgical/Clinic experience required


Surgical Services

Job Title: ASC RN
Job Summary: Evaluate, plan, implement and document nursing care given to the patients. Function within the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, to deliver comprehensive, family centered nursing care to all patients.
Shift: Days plus Call
Hours: Full-Time
Job Requirements Include:

  • Assess patient understanding of plan of care, to better facilitate education opportunities and materials during hospital stay, working towards dismissal from admission.
  • Documents concerns, findings, and actions, implementing appropriate plan of care related to patient's diagnosis for continuity of care
  • Provide appropriate direct patient care in the hospital by obtaining and documenting vital signs, documenting nursing assessment and assisting physician with examinations and procedures as needed to provide medical care to patients.
  • Communicates pertinent information related to patients condition to inform doctors, additional staff nurses and/or ancillary departments of patients needs and/or plan of care.
  • Perform waived lab tests, document results, administer vaccinations and injections as ordered by physician as part of patient care plan.
  • Current RN license in the state of Kansas
  • Hospital/Clinic experience required


Job Title: Surgical Technologist
Job Summary: The surgical technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Shift: Days Plus Call
Hours: PRN
Job Requirements Include:

  • Gathers, checks and opens supplies and equipment needed for the surgical procedure.
  • Performs the surgical scrub, and donning gown and gloves.
  • Sets up the sterile back table and stand with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for the procedure.
  • Performs initial instrument, sharps and sponge counts with the circulator.
  • Assists the team members with gowning and gloving.
  • Assists with draping the patient and establishing the sterile field.
  • Participates in the surgical site and patient verification during the time out procedure.
  • Prepares and anticipates additional instrumentation, equipment and supplies for usage during the procedure.
  • Minimum of one to two years’ experience in the operating room environment preferred.
  • Certification as a Surgical Tech preferred.
